India has made significant achievements during the Phase I of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) during the period from January 2010 to March 2013, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Dr Farooq Abdullah said.
Abdullah further added that several projects under various programs have been completed and the grid-connected projects with a total capacity of 1047.16 MW have already been commissioned. Under the off-grid scheme, 160.8 MW of photovoltaic systems have been sanctioned and 6.07 million square meter of collector area of solar water heating has been installed, he said.
The government has also formulated policy guidelines to implement various schemes under Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM). They are Migration Scheme for Grid Connected Projects, guidelines for selection of new Grid Connected Solar Power Projects under Batch-I, Phase-I of JNNSM, guidelines for selection of new Grid Connected Solar Power Projects under Batch-II, Phase-I of JNNSM, Rooftop PV and Small Solar Power Generation Programme (RPSSGP) and Off-Grid and Decentralized Solar Applications.
