JIVI Mobiles took a major step in the direction of realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision of ‘Make in India’ by setting up two new facilities with a phased investment of Rs. 200 crores.

JIVI Mobile’s first factory is in Mahipalpur, New Delhi built up on an area of 16000 sq. ft. which would cater to North and East India demand of JIVI Mobile phones.

The first facility has an installed capacity of manufacturing 7 lakh phones per month with the current man power of 300 + employees. With 8 operational assembly lines Jivi Mobiles, along with its feature phones, manufactures battery, chargers and hands free in India. The aim is to cut the cost on import duty which is 12.5 per cent currently.

Second facility of JIVI Mobiles which is located in Lonavala, Maharashtra to cater to the South and Western parts of the country, would be operational in the coming months.

“It gives us great pleasure to accomplish what we had aimed for in phase I. Team Jivi looks forward on serving the North and Eastern markets in India. The facility in Mahipalpur has one of the best setups in mobile manufacturing with high tech equipments and automated process. This investment of Rs 200 cr. in our manufacturing units would have a capacity to generate employment for nearly 1000 skilled workers over a period of time,” said Pankaj Anand, CEO, Jivi Mobiles.

“With its affordable handsets starting from Rs 699 – 1199, the company proposes to tap the huge potential for feature phones in the country in the days to come” added Anand.

The second factory in Lonawala in Maharashtra, when operational would cater to the demand in Southern and Western parts of the country.
