India’s Amplus Energy Solutions Pvt. Ltd has acquired 7-megawatt solar rooftop assets of US-based bankrupt clean-energy giant SunEdison Inc.
The price of the deal was not made public.
The company said in statement that, the commercial and industrial rooftop projects are located throughout the country and provide power to corporate customers.
Amplus is backed by I Squared Capital, a New York-based infrastructure investment manager.
Following the acquisition, Amplus said it will operate more than 150 distributed generation and rooftop systems across India.
The company’s existing customers include Walmart, Yamaha and Hilton Hotels. The company now has more than 30 customers and is operating over a hundred sites.
Amplus now has a portfolio of around 30 MW, spread across the country.
