Exicom Announces Multi-Standard Harmony EV Chargers and Battery R&D Center

Gurgaon based Exicom Tele-Systems announced the launch of new battery multi-standard chargers and a research and development centre for electric vehicles at Bangalore, India. The new Exicom research and development centre, as per the company is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure.

Exicom will use it for comprehensive evaluation of cell quality, battery pack design, rapid prototyping, reliability and environmental testing.

Anant Nahata, managing director of Exicom said, “We are committed to playing a leading role in the transition to shared, connected, and electric mobility. Today, we have a full range of AC and DC Fast Chargers suitable for all types of Electric Vehicles ranging from 1 kW to 150 kW, supporting all global standards and both low and high voltage battery platforms.”

It is to be noted here that Government of India, in September 2018, had expressed its desire to have at least 15 per cent of total vehicles, to be electric in the next five years.

What’s special about new Exicom Research and Development facility

A press release issue by Exicom claims that the new research and development facility ensures adherence to all international safety standards specific to Lithium-ion Battery Packs. It also facilitates development of battery pack using any cell chemistry and form factor.

The new facility will enable Exicom in designing and developing automotive battery packs with power up to 500V. Exicom said that it will also strengthen company’s ability to produce and deploy customised products and solutions across various automotive applications.

Exicom Harmony multi standard fast DC charger

The newly launched Exicom Harmony multi standard fast DC charger complies with three output connectors namely – CHAdeMO, CCS and Type 2 AC. Exicom claims that it is an ‘all in one’ electric vehicle charging solution and will serve all kinds of electronic vehicles.

The Exicom Harmony multi standard fast DC charger can accommodate anything falling between the 30KW-150KW charging range. It is ideal for highways, fleet operations, parking etc. The latest electric vehicle chargers will come with connected services to allow integration with payment platforms, smart electrical systems.

Exicom claims that leading automobile manufacturers in India have already impaneled it and it is actively looking to collaborate and work with both public and private institutions and companies.
