In addition to the retail expansion, the EV maker also launched ‘Ather Electric December’, a month-long program to incentivize customers
As per recent reports, emerging Indian electric scooter manufacturer, Ather Electric recorded a whopping growth of 389 per cent YoY in its December 2022 sales. The company data showed that it sold 9187 units last month.
It must be noted that the 2013-born startup has launched the ‘Ather Electric December’ program to offer benefits, financing options, and exchange programs to customers for the whole month. Ather also launched 14 Experience Centres (ECs) in cities like Karimnagar, Kottayam, Nellore, Noida, Shimoga and Udupi.
Its chief business officer, Ravneet Singh Phokela commented: “We exit the year with strong sales momentum, and despite an industry dip of almost 40 per cent in two-wheeler sales, our December retails grew by 26 per cent over November. Importantly, Tier 2-3 markets continue to show strong adoption rates, which augurs extremely well for EV adoption across the country.”
Last year, Ather introduced a financing scheme in partnership with IDFC Bank to enable customers to own the Ather 450X at an EMI. As of now, the EV company has marked its presence in 70 cities with 89 ECs. “With the year turning, continued industry momentum, and some exciting news lined up in January, we expect it to be a bumper month for Ather,” added Phokela.
In another development within the company, Mr Pranesh Urs has been appointed as its Marketing VP. As Ather embarks on its next phase of growth and expands its presence across India in its quest to lead the EV revolution in the country, this appointment will play a crucial role.
The official statement mentioned that Mr Urs will take charge of all brand and marketing initiatives, including brand, media, consumer insights, creative, and community.
