Huawei’s Latest OS EMUI 9.0 to Take on Android 9.0 PIE OS

Smartphone models OnePlus 6, Vivo X21, Oppo R15 Pro, Sony Xperia XZ2, Nokia 7 Plus, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S have already started receiving android 9 (Pie) updates

Huawei Consumer Business Group has announced its new OS for the Indian market. Christened as EMUI 9.0 (Encrypted Mobile User Identity), the upcoming OS will feature important contributions from Huawei India RandD team. The mobile manufacturer claims that these inputs have allowed the company to include India specific capabilities and features.

Huawei EMUI 9.0 key highlights

Touted as Huawei’s take on android P OS, this new OS is developed to enable quality life claims the company. EMUI 9.0 is based on India team’s feedback and will come enabled with deeper PayTM app integration. It will also feature India specific language support features.

Bigger view through invisible navigation keys

The new gesture-based Huawei EMUI 9.0 navigation system will enable the company to retain the expansive view available on its devices. EMUI 9.0 will also make one-handed operation easy via its range of intuitive features claims the company.

A tap or a flick will allow users to perform all the navigation bar actions. For example, a simple swipe on the mobile phone’s screen edge will enable the back function.

Improved gaming experience through GPU Turbo 2.0

EMUI 9.0 will come integrated with GPU Turbo 2.0 to enhance the gaming experience Huawei offers on its range of mobile devices. Based on foundations laid by its earlier version, GPU Turbo 2.0 will offer better game touch controls.

Huawei claims the new improved version of GPU Turbo works with App assistant feature and promises premium gaming experience in mobile phones.

App tracking and children control

As per the claims made by the China headquartered mobile manufacturer, the new OS will help its users to better track and manage the time they spend on their smartphones. It will track time spent on individual apps and inform the user about the same. Moreover, parents will also have the options to set usage limits for applications.

It would be interesting to see how Huawei EMUI 9.0 fares against android Pie especially when smartphone models OnePlus 6, Vivo X21, Oppo R15 Pro, Sony Xperia XZ2, Nokia 7 Plus, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S have already started receiving android 9 (Pie) updates. Huawei, aiming its expansion in India, has already launched more than seven smartphone models since April 2018.
