E-mobility service provider Yulu and Adani Electricity have announced in a joint statement that they have partnered to provide battery charging and battery swapping stations in Mumbai.
As per the agreement, Adani Electricity will provide electricity to Yulu to power its electric bikes at multiple locations spread across Mumbai.
The two companies also plan to install over 500 battery swapping stations in the next 18 months across the city.
“Adani Electricity is committed to establishing infrastructure for electrifying mobility in Mumbai and supporting Yulu in its journey for providing a sustainable mobility solution to Mumbaikars,” a spokesperson from Adani Electricity said.
Technology-driven mobility startup Yulu’s e-bikes are mainly deployed in the Bandra-Kurla Complex area in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai and it has plans to expand to more areas across the city.
Adani Electricity will facilitate installation of battery swapping stations at BKC and will scale up across Mumbai in line with Yulu’s plans.
Amit Gupta, co-founder of Yulu Bike, said, “With this collaboration, Yulu will have 24×7 battery charging and swapping access across multiple points in Mumbai and this will be our first step together towards electrification of mobility in Mumbai.”
