HK Wentworth, a UK based company that deals in making protective coatings for electronics and mechanical parts is planning to open a manufacturing unit in Bengaluru. The company is planning to spend £500,000 to making the factory. The company already has a manufacturing unit in China.
The new manufacturing unit in India will supply coatings for the country’s LED lighting industry, which is set to boom after the Modi government’s ambitious LED lighting UJALA programme envisages to bring LEDs to every home.
According to Ron Jakeman, managing director, HK Wentworth, “We are just setting up the 30,000 sq ft factory in India, which is a big target market for us. It is being built in Bengaluru which is the technical centre of India, so all the company’s working on the designs of circuit boards and related kit are there.”
It is a strategic investment for the company who plans to target the ever growing Indian electronic manufacturing industry. The company feels that India will turn out to be a big market for the company in the coming years as all major global manufcaturing companies are setting up their base in the country.
