In a recently released whitepaper by Frost & Sullivan, a consultancy firm, has said that technology and automation as being the key drivers to ramp up productivity of manufacturing sector in the country. Most of the maufacturers are worried about how they can increase the productivity and this whitepaper discusses some vaery valid point which would be very beneficial for them.
According to the report, the global manufacturing market is at the crossroads as the burgeoning competition, huge influx of technology, and volatile global economy has pushed the need for transformation across the manufacturing value chain.
The government of India has been quite aggresively marketing their ‘Make in India’ initiative and we have seen a lot of multinational companies showing their interest to manufacture in this country. The government is also quite bullish about Digital India and it is encouraging companies to adopt it.
The report talks about how it is important for manufacturers to adopt Industry 4.0 approach which talks about smart and advanced manufacturing processes.
According to Niju V, Director, Frost & Sullivan, “the country has already started its journey into the realms of the Industrial Internet of Things to reach global standards of manufacturing. With significant support from the government and foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows, new strategic partnerships are emerging and technology-based manufacturing is being implemented on the plant floor.”
