Now Swedish electric vehicle manufacturer Clean Motion has announced that they planning to set up a manufacturing facility in the country and will be investing $10 million for the same in the course of next three years. Their brand Zbee is already running in Gurgaon’s DLF Cyber City and the company aims to provide last mile connectivity to consumers.
“We plan to invest $10 million over the next three years. At the end of the third year, we expect to have a fleet of around 2,000 vehicles cumulatively,” Clean Motion country head Anil Arora last week told PTI.
According to Arora the company plans to have a pan India presence and wants to be present in every location where there is need for last mile connectivity. Presently, all the Zbee vehicles are imported from Sweden, but now with setting up of this factory India will be able to have locally made Zbee available in the country.
India has been encouraging multinationals to open manufacturing base in the country and it has been providing sops to those companies. In the last one year, the country has seen host of international companies annoucing their manufacturing initiatives in India.
