According to a report, Sterlite Technologies is looking forward to hire about 300-400 professionals this fiscal for growth areas of 5G and wireless ecosystem. This would help in supporting its plans to take services business global, Group CEO Anand Agarwal has said.
The company would be hiring professional with requisite experience as well as freshers for these growth areas. Agarwal also commented, “We are strengthening our ecosystem that we speak about, our wireless and 5G ecosystem, so clearly on that front we are continuing with a strong level of hiring.”
Global service business
Part of the hiring is also in view of the company’s plans to take its services business global, in markets of the Middle East and Europe. Agarwal also added, that they are continuing on their strategic path and are not letting the current slowdown in the economy or whatever is happening on COVID, to impact the overall long-term strategic roadmap.
The company is claimed to adopt a structural approach to take its services business global. Currently, Sterlite Tech sells its products globally with over two thirds of fibre and cable it produces, targeted at the overseas markets.
Focus on Indian Market
Agarwal also added that for their services businesses that have consciously focused on the India market, so far. They have doing projects for defence, telecom ecosystem, smart cities and rural broadband.

Structural Approach
He also said, “We will go for a structured approach, by taking up one global services contract first, and part of the hiring plans pertain to this.” The services play would include designing a project, integration of the entire network, as well as operation and maintenance functions.
