Samsung is planning to launch ‘Made in India’ 7-inch tablet in the country very soon. The company has not disclosed much information about the new product, but what is exciting experts is that it is a ‘Make in India’ initiative from the company. All information that we could gather is that the tablet will sport a 1.5 GB RAM and there will be a 8 MP rear camera instead of the usual 5 MP.
Indian government has been encouraging multinational companies to make in India and Samsung is one of the few companies that started manufcaturing in India quite early. It is the market leader in mobile segment in the country and what is interesting that the company surpassed Apple last quarter in terms of smartphone sales and shares in India.
For Samsung, India has been one of the fastest growing smartphone market and the company wants to leverage this and introduce products which consumers want. This upcoming tablet is also expected to trigger consumers interest and Samsung will try and come up with a product that is specifically designed for Indian customers.
Recently, Samsung launched its Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) smartphones in India. Both smartphones are available for as low as Rs 2,989 each, as part of an exchange offer.
