Qualcomm offers 5G compatibility in Snapdragon 8-,7- and 6-series only. Going by the name, Snapdragon 4-series might be the most economical offerings from Qualcomm
Qualcomm Technologies (Qualcomm) plans to expand its portfolio of 5G mobile platforms to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4-series in early 2021. Snapdragon 4-series, as the company informed, is expected to address regions that currently have approximately 3.5 billion smartphone users combined.
“The Snapdragon 4-series 5G Mobile Platform is designed to exceed expectations for the mass-market segment by bringing an assortment of predominately high- and mid-tier features to a broader audience. It will deliver on the promise of making 5G accessible to all smartphone users,” said Cristiano Amon, president, Qualcomm Incorporated.
It is t be noted here that Qualcomm, right now, is offering 5G compatability in Snapdragon 8-,7- and 6-series only. Going by the name, Snapdragon 4-series might be the most economical offerings from Qualcomm.
Oppo, Xiaomi and Motorola
The likes of Oppo, Motorola and Xiaomi have already confirmed their collaboration with Qualcomm for the yest-to-be launched series of processors. All the three have confirmed that these will be introducing devices based on the new series.
