Pune will soon be getting dedicated electronics parks in the state which is expected to boost electronics manufacturing. The state has recently formulated a new electronics policy where this decision was taken. According to the policy the government is expected to provide incentives to those companies who will be in the domain of electronics systems design and manufacturing (ESDM) sector.
One electronics park will come up in Baur near Pune which will be of 100 hectare and another one will come up in Talegaon. The third electronics park is expected to come up at Khalapur in Raigad district.
Pune is not known for electronics manufacturing but with this decision the state will become one of the frontrunners in electronics manufacturing in the country.
According to SS Survase, joint director of industries, “these parks will have integrated facilities for research and development, manufacturing and testing support to the industry. The electronics industry is different in the sense that it is not polluting and needs highly skilled people.”
The government is also planning to establish two semiconductor manufacturing units in the state in the coming 10 years. The state government will also provide financial incentives to those companies who will be in the domian of LED, LCD and lithium-ion batteries.
