The surge in demand for B2B products reveals a massive shift in purchase channels which are deployed by SMEs as well as large companies. With the rising focus on logistics as well as timely delivery services, online B2B e-commerce companies are setting themselves up as a reliable as well as authentic source for procurement of industrial products.
The rise of E-commerce business has led to increase in demand for monitors, printers and computer peripherals from cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Bengaluru. There is a flank in the graph when one looks at the male to female ratio of orders placed for B2B products online. There are 86 per cent male and 14 per cent female.
Apart from these, the other products which reveal increased demand include home safes, wall fans, saws, lawn mowers, LED bay lights, diesel engine pump set, portable generators and engine compressors to name a few.
As per Swati Gupta, co-founder and CEO, Industrybuying “Our reach of over 20000+ pincodes gives us pan India presence. We are well covered and this shows in our order distribution as our orders are spread across a wide geography. It is exciting for us to know that there is immense amount of unmet demand waiting to be tapped all over India. We analyse and map the selling categories with region and accordingly tweak our targeting strategies. For example unlike Safety Equipments which is a topseller in most other regions, TamilNadu sees a lot of demand for Diesel Engine Pumpsets. We take a lot of strategic and marketing calls based on such and many more data points.”
