LG Electronics is planning to grow its autonomous vehicle and infotainment system business by leveraging Microsoft’s Azure cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.
It has been reported that LG Electronics,the Korea based company will soon apply Microsoft’s AI knowledge to its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Driver-Status Monitoring Camera (DSM) and Multi-Purpose Front Camera products and incorporate Microsoft’s Virtual Assistant Solution Accelerator in its infotainment systems.
Azure’s Data Box service will help LG’s self-driving platform to learn and evolve even faster at its testing grounds.Also help the software of LG to learn the driving patterns of other vehicles on the road as well as recognise and distinguish between pedestrians and objects.
With Azure’s voice-activated Virtual Assistant Solution Accelerator, LG’s vehicle infotainment system will enable drivers to easily and quickly check traffic conditions on the road, search for nearby restaurants, play favourite songs and more.
Kim Jin-yong, President of the LG Vehicle Component Solutions Company said that the combination of Microsoft’s advanced cloud infrastructure with LG’s fast-growing automotive components business will accelerate the self-driving auto industry as a whole.
