An Indo-Belgian joint venture company, Keselec Schreder has said that it has joined hands with Ujjain Nagar Nigam to provide them remotely controlled smart LED street lights at Agar Road in Ujjain. The company has already installed 250 voltana LED luminaires integrated with its Owlet telemanagement system.
According to the company Owlet is a telemanagement system for monitoring, controlling, metering and managing outdoor lighting. Based on open technologies it saves energy, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, improves outdoor lighting reliability and lowers the maintenance cost. The central government has been quite bullish about adopting LEDs and the government is distributing LED bulbs at subsidised rates to the consumers in order to sane electricity.
In terms of technology, the operating state, energy consumption and failures are reported and stored in a database with exact timestamp and geographical location. Each LED luminaire is fitted with a lumen controller (LuCo) which is controlled by a central master controller named segment controller (SeCo).
Some other LED installations of Keselec Schreder in India includes Cyber Park in Kozhikode, street lighting in Tambatam, Chennai, BRTS & Super Corridore Project Indore and Atal Bihari Bajpayee Regional Park, Indore.
