The defence sector is now the ‘sun rise industry’ of the country with huge opportunities for investments.
Kerala has accelerated the development of the defence sector by nurturing defence startups and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and positioning the state as an industry-friendly destination with various initiatives, said industries minister E P Jayarajan at a recent industry meet.
Jayarajan stated that one of the major initiatives by the government towards defence manufacturing is the upcoming KINFRA defence park at Ottapalam, Palakkad and the proposed aviation hub at Kannur, reported TNN.
He is quiet affirmative that the commencement of operations at the said park and hub would attract large scale investments and make Kerala a hub for defence manufacturing. The minister also invited the MSMEs in the state to take advantage of the opportunities.
Supporting Jayaranjan further, K Elangovan, principal secretary, the department of industries and commerce, Kerala, said that the defence sector is now the ‘sun rise industry’ of the country with huge opportunities for investments.
