Around 1,942 investors have already been allotted lands to establish units in the area. These industrialists are expected to invest more than Rs 17,000 crore to set up factories

Preliminary talks took place between the Indian Cellular and Electronics Association and officials of Yamuna Express Way around setting up a electronics and mobile accessories hub around the express way area. Uttar Pradesh’s cabinet minister Sidharth Nath Singh was also present at the meeting.

Several companies, owing to the upcoming international airport in the UP’s Jewar region, have shown interest in investing around manufacturing electronics and mobile accessories in the area. UP’s Noida, which is in proximity to Jewar, is already called the mobile manufacturing city of the nation.

“Met with Indian Cellular and Electronics Association along with UP MSME and YEIDA to discuss (with) ICEA for setting up cellular and electronics park in UP,” the Minister had tweeted recently.

ICEA has been tasked with preparing a plan that includes alloting around 250 acres of land to companies interested in investing in the area. It is speculated that, if finalized, the state might attract more than Rs 50,000 crores in investments for such companies.

Arun Vir Singh, CEO of YEIDA, also noted about the developments and said that ICEA officials have been tasked to come up with a concrete plan around setting up such a hub in the area.

Around 1,942 investors have already been allotted lands to establish units in the area. These industrialists are expected to invest more than Rs 17,000 crore to set up factories which will have the ability to employ more than 2.65 lakh people.
