ITI Opens Telecom Testing Centre in Bengaluru

It will commence the commercial services testing,safety testing and certification from March 2019.

ITI Limited has recently launched a new telecom testing facility at its Bengaluru Plant,which aims to enable safety and security of telecom equipment in the country.

Anuradha Mitra, Member-Finance, Department of Telecommunications, Government of India has inaugurated it on February 9,2019,at ITI Bengaluru Plant.

For the new facility,ITI Limited has collaborated with DoT’s National Digital Communications Policy,which makes mandatory testing, validation and security certification of various network elements of telecom network to protect, secure and make it less vulnerable from internal and external threats.

As per official information,these labs have the capacity to test and certify the network elements as per national & international standards.

Out of four labs, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)/ Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Safety Lab have been commissioned by the government.

ITI will start the EMI/EMC testing and safety testing for pre-compliance and certification from March 2019.Other two labs- SAR testing lab and telecom security testing lab are expected to be operational from July 2019.

Reinforce telecom testing ecosystem

While inaugurating the new telecom testing center at Bangalore plant,Mitra had said that the state-of-art facility for telecom equipment testing will enable ITI in offering testing services to various equipment manufacturers. These labs will not only strengthen the telecom testing ecosystem in the country but also serve in enhancing the user experience through better quality services.

Alagesan, Chairman and Managing Director, ITI Limited remarked that this initiative, in support with DoT will witness a new era of telecom equipment testing and supplement make in India program of Government of India.

M. Agarwal, Director, Marketing, ITI Limited, said that these testing labs will facilitate mandatory testing of imported and indigenous telecom equipment in India.

Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha had laid the foundation stone of these testing labs in September 2, 2018 in the presence of Telecom Secretary Aruna Sundararajan.
