India’s President Pranab Mukherjee is on a four-day visit to China where he is addressing a meeting of the India-China Business Forum. Mukherjee told Chinese investors India will provide condusive environment for China to come and Make in India and also asked them to join India in other flagship programmes and boost bilateral relationship.
The forum is being attended by promonent industrialists and businessmen from both countries and the President told then India would like to see greater market for Indian products in China in a bid to balance bilateral trade as it is presently in China’s favour.
“It is a matter of satisfaction that there is emerging focus on two-way investment flows,” he said.
The President said that bilateral trade between both these nations has grown at a good pace since the beginning of this century. In the year 2000 the trade figure between both these countries stood at $2.91 billion and in 2015, it touched $71 billion.
“We are committed to providing a conducive environment for more investments from China. We stand ready to facilitate many more collaborations between the industry and businesses of our two countries across different sectors. India invites investors from China to be partners in India’s growth story,” he said.
