While NLC India has commissioned 500 MW solar power projects in Tamil Nadu, SECI is preparing to issue a tender for 1,000 MW solar projects to be developed in the Northeastern states of India.
NLC India Monday announced that it has commissioned the remaining 200 MW of solar PV power projects, out of 500 MW solar PV power projects which was under implementation in the state of Tamil Nadu.
With this, the company has commissioned the entire 500 MW solar power projects in the state.
NLC India, a Navratna company under the coal ministry, has a total power generation capacity of 4,731 MW.
NE to get 1 GW of solar PV capacity
The Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI) is preparing to issue a tender for 1,000 MW solar projects to be developed in the Northeastern states of India.
The Asian Age reported that the ceiling tariff could be set at Rs 3 per kilowatt for the solar project covering the states of Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland and Assam.
These solar PV projects will be developed under Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) Phase-II Batch-IV. The request for selection (RfS) will be made available online on or after March 20.
Assam to use unused roofs for solar units
Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) has chalked out a plan to utilise the unused roofs of state government buildings to generate solar power.
As reported by The Telegraph, the scheme proposes to set up solar power plants with a capacity to generate minimum 15 MW power on the rooftop of buildings owned by the state government.
The APDCL has also planned to set up standalone solar power plants at primary health centres (PHCs) located in off-grid remote villages.
