Indian Institute of Technology Patna has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bangalore-based IoT Cybersecurity startup Redinent for research, development and innovation in IoT and cybersecurity products.
As per a statement by the company, this MoU aims to foster and inculcate the translational research and deep-tech innovations in interdisciplinary cyber-physical systems with central theme of speech, text and video analytics of IIT Patna and creating Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) to become a hub for attracting different technology startups and larger companies from various places to come to IIT Patna’s TIH and collaborate for researching and developing industry-relevant products.
The MoU singing function was graced by IIT Patna Director Prof. T N Singh, Director TIH, Prof. Jawar Singh, Associate Dean Administration IIT Patna, Prof. Somanath Tripathy, Divyanshu Verma – CEO & CoFounder, Redinent, Arko Dhar – CTO & CoFounder, Redinent, Commander K Arun – COO & CoFounder, Redinent and other faculty and staff members of the institute and Redinent.
Redinent CEO highlighted how TIH and IIT Patna have the right talent and ecosystem that can be an excellent opportunity to transform it into a technology incubation hub with immense potential in IoT, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, and AI & ML.
Prof. T. N. Singh, IIT Patna Director, and Prof. Jawar Singh, TIH Director, emphasized the importance and need for cybersecurity in smart cities and other business verticals where India is witnessing a fast adoption of IoT devices and smart devices.
They also highlighted why there is a need to jointly explore research and product development for academia with industry with niche startups like Redinent so that the academia benefits from the knowledge exchange and industry collaboration.
