IESA Chairman is optimistic that Hyderabad can lead the second phase of growth for India in electronics.
A move to make Hyderabad a global manufacturing hub in the ESDM space. The Indian Electronic and Semiconductor Association of India (IESA), the national trade body in the electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) industry is keen to partner with Telangana government.
IESA has been providing policy recommendations and a platform for industry to collaborate for the growth of ESDM in India. According to the IESA, Indian semiconductor component market will touch $32.35 billion by 2025, growing at a compounded annual growth rate of over 10 per cent between 2018 and 2025 and Hyderabad has a big role to play.
Anil Kumar Muniswamy, Chairman, IESA, said that Hyderabad has capabilities in both software and hardware development and makes it a unique city to enable growth in the ESDM sector if it also creates manufacturing infrastructure.
He stated that Hyderabad can lead the second phase of growth for India in electronics,because Bengaluru is saturating and there is a clear advantage for Hyderabad as the latter has a strong presence in IT and Defence sectors. IESA is keen to work together with Telangana government and create a vision group and believe that they can bring industry leaders to the state to explore investment and partnership opportunities.
