Gardner Aerospace Expands Operations In Poland And India

Gardner Aerospace, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of aerospace detailed parts and sub-assemblies, is expanding operations in Poland and at the company’s facility in India.

The Poland business
Almost 2,000 square meters have been recently added to Gardner Aerospace’s Mielec facility in southern Poland, bringing the overall size of the operation to 7,270 square meters, allowing for installation of equipment worth up to USD 6.3m. This new equipment introduces new capabilities in the form of extrusion machining, as well as adding further capacity for four- and five-axis machining.

Elsewhere in Poland, a 2,500-square metre extension has been completed at the company’s facility in Tczew. The addition brings this operation’s overall size to 8,100 square metres. Capabilities added include surface treatments, painting, non-destructive testing, welding and brake press capability.

Dominic Cartwright, chief executive officer, Gardner Aerospace, said that these expansions allow them to meet the growing demand for high-quality, best-cost work. He further mentioned that the organisation, in particular, wanted to introduce in-house surface treatment operations and aerospace welding capability at Tczew, which they can now offer.

In India, the company’s operations in Bengaluru have been expanded by almost 1,900 square meters, with the addition of a second facility, giving a combined floor space of 5,400 square meters. Cartwright continues that the development at Bengaluru is a necessary response to increasing customer demand for work in India. He added that the company wanted to add in-house surface treatments capability in the country and this is a key part of their long-term plan for growth in India.
