Freyr Energy has raised Rs 18 crore equity funds from a group of investors that included Total Carbon Neutrality Ventures, Schneider Electric Energy Access Asia and C4D Partners. In an official statement, the company said it would use the investments to accelerate growth and further enhance customer experience.
A solar rooftop company based in Hyderabad, Freyr was founded in 2014 to help provide world-class solar solutions to homeowners and businesses and caters to residential and small businesses.
Since its inception, Freyr Energy has raised Rs 45 crore and installed 30 MW of rooftop solar across 22 states. This is a follow-on investment for C4D Partners. In November 2018, it led the Series A funding round in the firm which led to Freyr Energy raising ₹ 27 crore through a mix of equity and debt.
Arvind, Partner at C4D Partners said, “Through their technology, Freyr Energy has the potential to change how rooftop solar is sold and managed in India and other countries. Freyr Energy could bring much-needed consolidation in the sector.”
Total Carbon Neutrality Ventures, a venture capital arm of French energy giant Total. Florian Temime, Principal, Total Carbon Neutrality Ventures, said the “innovative software will ease the acquisition of rooftop solar customers and facilitate the entire customer journey from acquisition to after-sales service.”
Gilles Vermot Desroches of Electric Schneider Energy Access said through its innovative and scalable solution, Freyr can contribute to mass-market adoption of solar energy, generating significant environmental impact.
