EON Electric Limited (EEL), making a range of energy-efficient LED lighting products, will be executing another streetlight project in Rajasthan. The project is worth Rs 40 crore. This has come about after it attained success in the installation of LED streetlights in other states of Rajasthan.
The project will involve Eon installing more than one lac LED streetlights through different cities in Rajasthan. The cities are Jaisalmer, Gangapur, Sri Ganga Nagar, etc. The company will be installing high lumen (minimum 95 lumen/watts) streetlights for improving road lighting and enhancing visibility on the streets.

The streetlight project has come about as a result of Rajasthan Government’s strategy to conserve energy via replacement of conventional lights with LED Street Lights. In the early part of 2016, the company had won a contract that amounted over Rs.51 crore for installing LED streetlights in Jodhpur and Aligarh via competitive bids involving other leading players. EON Electric is also installing more than 60,000 LED streetlights in Jodhpur.
