The Electropreneur Park (EP) is an incubation centre nurturing electronic startups. EP is going to be organising a roadshow in Delhi for reaching out to new and budding entrepreneurs all over India. This is with the main aim of encouraging innovation in domestic electronic startups.
There will be nearly 50 startups in the ESDM sector that are going to be incubated via EP over a span of five years. The move is with the main aim of creating five global companies. The incubator is endeavouring to attract applications for this year from budding entrepreneurs in the Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector throughout the country.
As pointed out by the incubator in a statement, “EP will select the best 10 early stage entrepreneurs in ESDM across the country, based on the merit of the project submission and will support them in research and development to accelerate electronics innovation in the country.”
The EP is a project from Software Technology Parks of India (STPI). The project gets funding from the Department of Electronics and IT (DeitY) and is promoted by University of Delhi (DU). The EP also has India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) as its implementing partner and CyberMedia India Limited as its execution partner.
The main aim of the project is on IP creation and product development for enhancing domestic value addition. This will also foresee a unique integration of academia, industry, government and other incubation ecosystem elements. The chosen entrepreneurs are also going to be be provided with state-of- art laboratories. They will benefit from ESDM mentorship by industry veterans as well as academicians, efficient supply chain and an ecosystem which will carry with it a bunch of other shared services and facilities for the incubatees.
The project will also help in facilitating seed funding for promising ventures and guarantee a smooth transition from an incubatee to a self-sufficient electronics startup.
