As the conversation around sustainable mobility adoption picks up pace in the country, several initiatives are coming up to make the Indian market ready for the EV boom. In one such effort, the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC), ISIE India (Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers) and MG Motor India have announced that they have joined hands to address the issues about electric vehicles and accelerate skill development in the sector.
The partnership is aimed at democratising high-end car technologies in the country through online and offline skill development courses for engineering students under Centre of Excellence for EV Research and Skill Development- Electric Vehicle Engineering.
The training programme will focus on skill enhancement to improve employability in the automotive sector while creating skilled manpower to cater to the automotive industry’s future requirements.
Vinod Gupta, president, ISIE India, said, “Through our practice on electric vehicle engineering programmes and various EV training programmes, we will be creating young entrepreneurs and skilled engineers.”
“COE will be established at various Universities and institutes to exchange their knowledge and excellence for EV skill development and research,” he added.
The programme will further enable young students to develop relevant skills on futuristic electric vehicle (EV/HEV) technologies and become self-reliant, thereby empowering them for a brighter future and further strengthening the goal of fulfilling a broader vision of Skill India, he said.
