The same represents an increase of 24.9 per cent compared to January 2020 and a decrease of 1.2 per cent compared to December 2020
ChipMOS Technologies INC, a provider of outsourced semiconductor assembly and test services, has reported its unaudited consolidated revenue for the month of January 2021. The company has reported an increase of 24.9 per cent on a year over year basis, to an all-time company high for the month of January.
It’s revenue for the month of January 2021 was NT$2,163.3 million or $77.2 million. The same represents an increase of 24.9 per cent compared to January 2020 and a decrease of 1.2 per cent compared to December 2020.
“The record high January revenue level reflects favorable supply and demand dynamics, which are a continuation of the trends seen through 2020 and expected to continue into 2021. The Company noted that it benefitted from strong demand in its memory and assembly businesses, with increased DDIC demand.
“Utilization levels remained high across all segments. The Company is adding additional capacity, increasing automation, and plans to maintain production levels during the upcoming Lunar holiday to meet the higher customer demand,” read an official press release.
ChipMOS’ revenue for the fourth quarter of 2020 was NT$6,310.3 million or $224.7 million, representing an increase of 13.3 per cent from the fourth quarter of 2019, and an increase of 11 per cent from the third quarter of 2020. Revenue increased 13.1 per cent for the full year 2020 compared to the full year 2019, representing the highest level since 2014.
The Company noted that it benefitted from continued strong memory and DDIC demand throughout 2020, with improvements in both volumes and pricing. The Company achieved higher utilization levels led by end-market demand strength in cloud infrastructure, gaming, mobile and industrial.
