Joseph Praveen, Business Development Manager at IBASE Technology Inc., in conversation with the EFY elaborates on deploying their industrial computer devices engaging design, manufacturing and marketing in India with focus on catering to fast-growing AIoT markets. The company also provides OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and ODM (original design manufacturer) services, tailoring products to customers’ requirements. 

How is your journey in business?

It’s been an epic journey since I joined iBase in the year 2016, there has been lots of learning with technology involved and understanding the marketing dynamics which changes from time to time. I am honoured to be part of the iBase who has a rich history with IPC product line.

Founded in 2000, IBASE carries out manufacturing and quality control at its own facilities in Taiwan that are certified with ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and ISO 14001 standards. The company is publicly listed in the Taipei Exchange (TPEx: 8050) and is now a leading global provider of innovative industrial and embedded computing products.

Can you share some details about its leadership team?

IBASE is built on the corporate cornerstones of “teamwork, sharing, innovation, efficiency, and service”. The company is currently led by CS Lin, chairman, BC Chen, CEO, and YN Chen, president, heading the IBASE team. 

How do you define your product strength to customers?

Current product offerings comprise of x86- and RISC-based industrial motherboards, embedded systems, edge computers, panel PCs, digital signage players and network appliances for applications in the AIoT, industrial automation, smart retail, intelligent transportation, gaming, digital signage players, POS/Kiosk, infotainment, medical and networking & communication sectors. 

IBASE has a full range of digital signage system products catering across vertical markets including retail, fast food, hospitality, education and financial. Depending on their requirements, customers can choose the models based on performance, number of displays, resolution and ventilation designs. IBASE digital signage players feature advanced remote management that easily refreshes content and increases uptime while lowering costs. 

IBASE has partnered with leading digital signage platforms including Omnivex, Quividi and Navori. It is a Titanium member of the Intel Partner Alliance that offers exclusive resources for AI, cloud, high performance computing, and other solution areas to help plan, build, and deliver more customer value. As an Intel-recognised top-tier partner, IBASE works together with Intel and the ecosystem to deliver the most advanced products and solutions to our customers.

How are your export plans (outside Taiwan & Mainland China), especially in India?

We have been shipping to numerous countries outside Taiwan and our top export regions fall into Europe/USA/Japan. As India is diversified into various sectors, we focus more on the Defense/Automation and Digital Signage solutions where we have established a strong hold in the Indian market.

We are looking for System Integrators who can be one point contact for customers in providing a complete solution, starting with hardware, software and integration. The key factor we look for in a partner is their capability to understand the requirement and deliver a solution with the IBASE product line and have their team ready to address and provide after sales support.

What is your target of growth in the near future and on Global operation where does India feature in your plans?

Backed by a robust R&D team, IBASE is now a leader in designing and developing products that integrate cutting-edge technology, meet unique and specific requirements in both standard and custom products, and fast time-to-market. Even from the initial planning phase of product development, IBASE engages various departments to study and discuss all the relevant processes including logistics, design, manufacturing and quality control, to identify, meet and even exceed customer demands. In addition to meeting demands for quality, IBASE’s team aims to reduce costs and shorten the development process, and attend to all matters leading to the overall satisfaction of clients.

IBASE’s R&D team has talented electronics, layout, system, mechanical hardware, BIOS, firmware as well as software engineers. Half of the team are seasoned with more than 15 years of experience in their respective fields, while the other 45 percent carry more than five years of experience. Because of their accumulated expertise, the R&D team is able to design and create new products for the demanding and dynamic market. And to faithfully deliver according to the specific requirements of customers within the shortest period, the team also collaborates with the most respectable ODM/JDM companies in the IPC industry.
