Thursday, July 17, 2014: The recent policy initiatives to boost the electronics industry will hopefully revive the dormant Indian electronic components manufacturing sector in the years to come. The demand for electronic components is estimated to grow at an average yearly rate of about 12.5 per cent over the next three years as the market is estimated to grow to around US$ 15 billion in FY 2013-14.
To find out more about the companies (manufacturers) in this domain, Electronics Bazaar attempted to rank the top electronic components manufacturers in India. Most of these companies have registered a higher revenue than last year, indicating growth in the sector. However, despite maintaining the first position, Epcos India witnessed a slight dip in revenue in FY 2012-13 in comparison to FY 2011-12. While most of the companies retained their earlier rankings, Keltron moved two positions up in the ranking. Comso Ferrites also moved up three rungs.
Most of the companies ranked are exclusively into component manufacturing in India, while some are into multiple businesses in the country. Many companies like PLA, Andhra Electronics, Cedicom, etc, could not be ranked as their revenue figures were not accessible. Some companies also declined to disclose their revenue figures. We have not included companies that manufacture connectors or are solely manufacturing semiconductors. We chose not to include Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) in the ranking as it is a multi-product and multi-unit company.
The revenue figures have been procured from the website of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), Government of India, and then verified by the companies. Some companies also sent us their balance sheets.
Disclaimer: While Electronics Bazaar’s editorial team has taken the utmost care to contact all possible sources to make the list comprehensive, we may have inadvertently left out a few companies from this list. Information contained in the following report has been obtained from sources deemed reliable, and Electronics Bazaar makes no claims with respect to its accuracy.
