Digital illustration of inverterThe leading UPS and inverter manufacturing companies in India performed well in the financial year (FY) 2013-2014. The revenues of major companies grew dramatically compared to figures of 2012-2013. The companies are making the most of the government’s push to domestic manufacturing and increasing their revenue through local production.

Through our survey, we have tried to list the leading companies in this field. The revenue figures of these companies are procured from the website of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA). We also contacted many companies, requesting them to participate in the survey. Companies like Riello-PCI declined to share their revenue and subsequently, to be part of the survey. We have ranked the top 10 UPS and inverter manufacturers in the country on the basis of their revenues in FY 2013-14. One major change in the rankings is Su-Kam which, due to its falling revenues, failed to make it to the first position, despite being a top-class brand. Genus Power Infrastructures Ltd performed fairly well in FY 2013-14, and therefore made it to the top slot.

While Su-Kam has moved to a lower position, Hitachi Hi-Rel has gone up in the rankings. It is surprising that many companies generally do not file their latest revenue statements with the MCA. This further hampered the process of providing a fair and comprehensive picture of the top companies. Hence, some major companies are not featured in our ranking.
