The leading battery manufacturers in India seem to have had an average year in 2011-12, as their turnovers were not so impressive. A comparision of the 2011-12 data with their revenues for the FY 2010-11, clearly indicates that all the top manufacturers have grown just marginally.
Monday, May 13, 2013: Electronics Bazaar attempts to bring out a clear picture of the growth being witnessed by the battery manufacturers in India. We have ranked the top 10 battery manufacturers in the country based on their revenues in the FY 2011-12, which have been procured from the website of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), Government of India.
When the revenues of the two financial years were compared, we noticed a slight change in the ranking position of the companies. Exide Industries, like previous year, has retained its No. 1 position, followed by Amara Raja. HBL Power Systems has moved up by a position taking the third rank, followed by Luminous Power Technologies. Su-Kam Power Systems dropped one position, ranking sixth in the rank. Base Corporation and Okaya Power, both moved one position higher in the current ranking list, whereas Southern Batteries and True Power International have retained their earlier positions.
While this survey is by no means comprehensive, it does provide a glimpse of the present condition of many of India’s major battery manufacturers.
