The latest in oscilloscopes

Wednesday, August 14, 2013: Oscilloscopes have been primarily used as a tool for debugging and designing. However, today, oscilloscopes are also commonly used as an automated verification tool, to make sure devices meet all specification requirements of a certain serial data standard. The new battleground is between digital oscilloscopes and software-defined oscilloscopes, although the latter currently accounts for only a small portion of the market.

In this section, we are featuring oscilloscopes launched in the past year. However, companies like LeCroy, Yokogawa, Tektronix, Aplab, Falcon, Scientech, Scientific Mestech, Chauvin Arnaux and Rigol Technologies have not launched any new oscilloscopes in the last one year.
Model: PicoScope 5000 series, Brand: PicoScope, Manufacturer: Pico Technology, UK

Launched in May 2013, the PicoScope 5000 series of oscilloscopes are the first by the company to use reconfigurable ADC (Automated Data Collection) technology to offer a choice of resolutions from 8 to 16 bits in a single product.
