Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has announced that its second Centre of Entrepreneurship (CoE) in Bengaluru would come up in Jayanagara.
Electronics For You has learnt that the new CoE in Jayanagara would be focused on incubating startups working in the efficiency augmentation segment.
STPI already has a CoE in Bengaluru called IoT OpenLabs. The lab has been set up to provide a platform, resources and support to innovative startups to develop IoT-based applications, products, and solutions for the domestic as well as global market. IoT Open Lab is the first of 22 CoEs for emerging technologies across the country.
The CoE is proposed to be operational for five years from the date of its launch and the overall budget of this project is ₹11.47 crore for 5 years, in which MeitY provided a grant-in-aid of ₹1 crore, STPI invested ₹3.52 crores while the industry partner, Arrow Electronics invested ₹6.95 crores.
Inaugurated in September 2020, currently, 42 startups have registered themselves with STPI IoT Open Labs.
