India 3D Printer Prototyping & Materials Market is Projected to Reach Over $62 Million by 2022

Over the last few years, India is registering growth in demand for 3D printers on account of usage of these for preparing prototypes in the areas of electronics & consumer goods, automotive, architecture, medical, industrial and others. Although, India 3D printer market is presently at nascent stage; however holds tremendous potential for the manufacturers, local assemblers and distributors.

According to 6Wresearch, India 3D Printer Prototyping & Materials Market is Projected to Reach Over $62 Million by 2022. In Indian market, 3D printer prototyping is an emerging concept, where in last three years several start-ups have emerged across the country. 3D printer prototyping service market is expected to gain grounds in applications pertaining to education, medical, arts and architectural. However, the trend is now rapidly shifting towards industrial & manufacturing application owing to growing awareness and declining prices for industrial 3D printers.

According to Rajat Kharbanda, Senior Consultant, Research and Consulting, 6Wresearch, “Architectural, education, arts, automotive, fashion and consumer electronics are the leading applications for 3D printer prototyping market, wherein consumer electronics presently accounts for major share”.

“In addition to, automotive and industrial end users are increasingly opting for high-end 3D printers, preferably of companies such as Stratasys and 3D Systems for prototyping services.” Rajat further added.

According to Prijo Samuel, Senior Research Analyst, Research and Consulting, 6Wresearch, “In terms of 3D printer materials market, majority of 3D printer prototyping demand was derived from Polyactic Acid (PLA) & Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) plastic materials, wherein Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing technology was largely utilized”.

“Additionally, India 3D printing prototyping market is led by market players such as Altem Technologies, Imaginarium and Novabeans Prototyping” Samuel concluded.

The major companies in India 3D printing prototyping market include- Altem Technologies, Imaginarium, Novabeans Prototyping, Think3D, MyObjectify, Stanley 3D Tech, 3D Spectra Technologies and LBD Makers Technology.
