As the country moves towards G20 presidency, the current situation would better shape future technology.
Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar on the 11th of November 2022, at the CII Madhya Pradesh Conclave on Digital Acceleration in Indore focused on the key role that India would play in shaping the technology and digitalization of the world as it takes over G20 presidency soon.
The G20 presidency is a premier forum for international economic cooperation representing around 85% of the global GDP. This is across 75% of the worldwide trade. India is expected to take on this presidency in 2023 and would hold about 200 meetings in 32 different sectors in multiple locations across the country.
Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar is the Minister of State for Electronics & Information Technology and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. He reflected on India’s progress when compare to other major countries of the world post covid. He said, “The report card of India shows that we have come out with great marks–200 crore vaccinations, fastest growing economy, highest FDI, while for others it has been unprecedented inflation, recession, lockdowns and shutdowns.”
Stating that Digital India’s use of technology in the government has kept the economy chugging on track, the Minister added that this was only possible because the Government under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was working on the lines of a Team India Model, in partnership with states and local governments to ensure that India Techade of opportunities were available to all young Indians across the country in all Tier 2 and 3 cities and villages too.
He attended the Pride of Madhya Pradesh Awards event organized by Sansad Seva Sakalp and Invest Indore and felicitated 75 IT and ITES companies of the state.
