California-based Egnyte, a platform for content collaboration and governance recently announced that it has appointed Sachin Shetty as the head of India, effective immediately. Shetty is appointed to lead the operations in the country, where the company has somewhere around 100 employees in engineering, product, and marketing.
Shetty is an adept engineer with over 20 years of experience in leadership roles across large technology organisations, Shetty has previously worked with expertise in designing, building, and scaling highly distributed systems. He has been working with the firm for over a decade as an engineer and has helped the company in building the Egnyte product stack and has worked in tandem with the teams to innovate on what his future plans are, for the company.
“Since the early days at Egnyte, Sachin has been a significant player in helping to bring the Egnyte vision to life,” said Vineet Jain, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder at Egnyte. “His hands-on experience building the product makes him the right person to develop the Egnyte brand in the region, in addition to leading a team that will get us to the next level of content security.”

Developing its products in India over the last year, the company is darting to boost investment in the country to help scale the product and meet growing market requirements. Egnyte currently offers a remote-work model in the region, presenting teams the flexibility to “work from anywhere.” Shetty was one of the first Egnyte employees to relocate to India to develop and grow the local team.
