Skye Air Mobility, the leading drone-technology-based logistics firm, has agreed with HP State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd (HPSEDC) to lend its support by offering payload as a service throughout the state of Himachal Pradesh. The agreement was formalised in the presence of Mukesh Repaswal, Managing Director, HPSEDC and Anil Semwal, General Manager HPSEDC, Government of Himachal Pradesh and Shrikant Sarda, Co-Founder & Director, Govt. Business, Skye Air Mobility, at IT Bhavan, Shimla today.

“We are happy to be associated with the Government of Himachal Pradesh. This association is significant as connectivity and logistics are a serious challenge in the state due to the hilly terrain. Through our services, we will help overcome the problem of poor road and rail connectivity. This will also act as a model for the other states to embrace drone technology faster.” “This will usher a new era in the direction of using technology to serve the people at the ground level. The Government of Himachal Pradesh has come out with a very optimistic and progressive approach towards drone deliveries and with the support of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, we look forward to establishing regular flights in the State of Himachal Pradesh to serve the people,” said Ankit Kumar, CEO, Skye Air Mobility.

Commenting on the agreement with Skye Air Mobility, Repaswal said, “The empanelment of various drone service providers and companies is being carried out as a part of the Project Governance and Reforms Using Drones (GARUD) in Himachal Pradesh. Skye Air has been empanelled with HPSEDC for the provision of drones as a service and we hope that with their experience they will work towards improving the last-mile delivery of services, especially in the medical sector in the remote regions of the state.” Skye Air has already made two successful drone delivery projects in the past in Himachal. Skye Air showcased its capability and products at the Drone Mela, Dharamshala, which was organised by Himachal Government in December 2021.
