Crompton Sets Up Its Largest R&D Centre in Mumbai To Accelerate Innovation

Spread across 50,000 square feet, the new centre will undertake research and development in significant consumer applications along with advanced technology enhancements

Electronics brand Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd has announced that it has set up its largest Research and Development (R&D) centre in Vikhroli, Mumbai called the Crompton Experience & Innovation Centre.

“Over the last few years, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd has been focusing on offering consumers meaningful innovations to create sustainable competitive advantage. To better equip the company to execute this strategy, CGCEL has set up its largest Research & Development (R&D) center,” the company said in a statement.

It further added that the new R&D center will help the company accelerate its efforts to bring new customer-centric innovation by the intelligent application of the latest smart, and efficient technologies.

Spread across 50,000 square feet, the new centre will undertake research and development in significant consumer applications along with advanced technology enhancements such as IoT, energy efficiency, and solution development.

“The company has already developed a strong line up of smart products in the IoT space like IoT lamps and battens, IoT coolers and IoT smart plugs,” the statement read.

Crompton will also hire up to 200 engineers for the new centre across mechanical, electronics, software, IT and data engineering and user-centric designs capability.
