Kalyanaraman Rajaraman has been appointed as the new secretary of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). He replaces Anshu Prakash, the former DoT secretary.
A lot of experts are seeing the appointment of Rajaraman as a step closer towards prime Minister’s aatnirbhar bharat. Rajaraman, a Tamil Nadu cadre 1989-batch Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer, will take over his new role post the superannuation of Prakash. The latter’s term comes to an end on 30 September 2021.
