According to the company, the high-speed EV chargers can charge the Nexon EV upto 80 per cent in one hour
Tata Motors and Tata Power announced that it has inaugurated 2 high-speed combined charging system (CCS2) electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Surat. As per the company, with this, the number of CCS2 stations has increased to 5 in Surat and 18 in Gujarat. The company said in a release that all Tata EV customers can now travel carefree to and from Ahmedabad – Vadodara – Surat, Ahmedabad – Rajkot and Ahmedabad – Gandhinagar.
According to the company, the high-speed EV chargers can charge the Nexon EV upto 80 per cent in one hour.
The charging stations are accessible via the app called Tata Power EZ Charge that lets the customers find a charging station, pay, monitor their charging status and get notifications on the app when ready to go.
“Tata Motors is committed to promoting the faster adoption of EVs in the country by increasing the network of charging stations. This is an attempt by the automaker to facilitate faster adoption while addressing barriers to EV adoption and providing a convenient experience to the customer,” said Ramesh Dorairajan, Head of Sales, Marketing and Customer Care, EV Business Unit, Tata Motors.
“The partnership with Tata Power is dedicated to improving the EV charging infrastructure in the coming years,” he added.
Sandeep Bangia, Head of EV, HA & ESCO Business, Tata Power, said, “We are committed to accelerating EV adoption across the country by expanding our charging infrastructure footprint. Currently, all the 4000+ Tata Nexon EV owners can access over 292 charging points installed in 92 cities and on several prominent intercity routes across India.”
Tata Motors has also introduced Tata uniEVerse, a comprehensive e-mobility ecosystem that aims to utilise the strengths and experience of other Tata Group companies to create a viable EV environment. This will also enable the customers to have access to a suite of e-mobility offerings including charging solutions, innovative retail experiences and easy financing options, the company added.
