Sarwant Singh Joins Switch Mobility as President and CPO: Report

Sarwant has extensive experience of over 20 years in the automotive and mobility space.

Ashok Leyland-owned Switch Mobility UK has brought in Sarwant Singh as its President and Chief Planning Officer, as well as the Chief Executive Officer of its mobility service arm, Ohm Global Mobility Pvt Limited, a recent report stated. 

Citing a source close to the development, The Economic Times reported that prior to being appointed to these positions, Singh was a managing partner at consulting firm Frost & Sullivan. 

Ashok Leyland had previously acquired majority-stake in Optare Group and renamed it as Switch Mobility as part of its drive towards electrification and new mobility services. Ohm Global Mobility is a Group arm that will operate as a mobility service company. 

Sarwant has extensive experience of over 20 years in the automotive and mobility space. He completed his B.Tech in electrical engineering from Saurashtra University and went on to procure an MBA degree from the University of Leeds in the UK. While working at Frost & Sullivan, he headed the regional operations of Asia, Middle East and South Africa. His role at the Group will be based in London.  

Gearing up to branch out in the EV market to turn up as one of the key players, Asok Leyland’s COO, Nitin Seth had hinted that the company could soon introduce electric LCVs in the Indian market. Chairman Dheeraj Hinduja had also mentioned that Switch is considering possible “strategic tie-ups and financial participation” to capture the growing EV market.
