On eyes on IoT
As per NASSCOM, the IoT market in India is worth $15 billion. As per a report by The Economic Times, India’s cellular connectivity-based IoT market can potentially see growth by Rs 10,000 crore by 2022.
Keeping this in mind, the teleco has naturally forayed into an intense market upon which other major telecom operators have also set their eyes.
Recently, Airtel also has launched Airtel IoT, the operator’s end-to-end 5G-ready IoT platform. Similarly, Reliance Jio has also delved into creating a comprehensive IoT solution with device, diagnostics, connectivity, platform and support, which it is expecting to launch very soon.
In a virtual conference, Kishore revealed that the company will also look at offering cloud services, adding that the company wants to get into three specific fields- IoT and its integrated space, the other one is in collaboration which includes a host of SaaS (software as a service), while the third one will be cloud services.
This, Kishore said, would help the company evolve from being a traditional connectivity player to become a connectivity plus collaboration plus IoT and integrated IoT and a cloud platform.
Kishore said that the company expects huge growth from integrated IoT solutions in the coming days.
Vi Business has also deployed a smart metering solution for one of the power distribution firms that remotely collect meter reading and also inform customers to buy cheaper power as per the consumption and load pattern.
