As per a report by the Economic Times, Oye! Rickshaw has launched its battery swapping platform and targets to deploy 10,000 Li-Ion batteries by December 2021. It also said that it crossed 1 lakh swap km inless than 3 months.
Mohit Sharma, founder, Oye! Rickshaw, said that Oye! Rickshaw impacts the real Bharat, enabling mobility for all. By introducing swapping, it is significantly reducing downtime of e-rickshaws and adding more commute hours for customers and more money into the pockets of our driver-partners.

The report said that the company said that it has built and created a full-stack energy services platform that leverages the battery, charging and digital technology to create a ubiquitous battery swap network, offering the driver-partners on-demand access.
As per the company, swapping leads to zero down-time for the rickshaws as compared to 8-10 hrs daily downtime with traditional charging. This means monetisable hours.
