- Tiger Lake would be using Intel’s Willow Lake CPU cores along with Intel Xe GPU

According to a report, Intel is looking forward to launch its Tiger Lake Processor coming September. The event has been revealed on their Investor Relation Page, and is labelled ‘Tiger Lake Virtual Launch Event’.
The program has been scheduled for September 2. The company hasn’t disclosed much details about the event.
Specifications
It has been reported that, the new processor would use their 10nm++ Willow Cove CPU cores along with their new and upcoming Xe GPU architecture. This would be Intel’s third 10nm CPU family after Canon Lake and Ice lake officially.
Tiger Lake would be using Intel’s Willow Lake CPU cores along with Intel Xe GPU which is their Gen 12 GPU microarchitecture. This would be supported by 96 execution units reportedly. The Xe GPU is claimed to have 12-bit, 4:2:2 & 4:4:4 fixed function hardware decoding and VP( 12-bit 4:4:4 fixed-function hardware decoding and AV1 10-bit 4:2:0 fixed-function hardware decoding.
Apart from that Tiger Lake will reportedly support PCI Express 4.0, Thunderbolt 4, and LPDDR5 memory. These details are yet to be confirmed as the company hasn’t released these informations officially.
Deep Learning Boost
Intel has been talking about Tiger Lake powered laptops at CES 2020 ( Codenamed Horseshoe Bend ) which has given an idea of how powerful Xe Graphics could be. With this there is an expectation to see Intel Deep Learning Boost (DL-Boost) AI/ML acceleration instruction extensions as well.
It has also been revealed by Intel’s Investor Relations website that Raja Koduri would hold a session covering updates to some of Intel’s CPU microarchitectures in greater detail.
