TVS Motor Company has launched its first EV scooter, iQube Electric in India at a price of Rs 1.15 lakh. The company’s chairman Venu Srinivasan said TVS will 1,000 units of iCube Electric scooters a month in the beginning.
The company has also teamed up with Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) to make charging stations available across Bangalore. The company will make charging facilities available at 10 of its dealerships in the city as well.
Regenerative braking, geofencing, remote charge status
The connected scooter can reach a speed of 78 kmph and run 75 km on a fully-charged battery as per TVS. Srinivasan also added that young people are digitally driven and want to stay connected. The company wants to cater to the aspirations of the youth with this scooter.
The scooter comes with quick park assist, regenerative braking, geofencing, remote charge status. It is also equipped with battery charge status, smart ride statistics and over-speed alert. It is backed by a 4. 4 KW electric motor. The company said that it provides an acceleration of zero to 40 kmph in 4.2 seconds.
