- The complexes will create an integrated environment to support the design stages of electronic systems and products
- The labs will also help in stimulating the local manufacture of telecommunications and electronics equipment
According to a report by Menafn, a source in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) of Egypt said that the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA) has established three integrated electronics laboratory complexes. The report added that each complex has three laboratories. These include an Internet of Things (IoT) plant, smart cities, multi-layered electronic circuit manufacturing laboratory, and an electronics prototyping laboratory.
The report said that this will create an integrated environment to support the design stages of electronic systems and products. The stages start from design idea, moves on to design implementation and development and then to manufacturing and collecting printed boards. It is followed by making the initial prototypes of the product’s external frame until the complete product is finished.
Testing, checking and approving communication equipment
According to the report, the source also an internationally accredited electronic testing and certification laboratory will be set up at the industrial complex of the technological zone in Sadat city. The report added that this will be considered the first laboratory inside in the Arab and African regions focusing on testing, checking, and approving communication equipment and electronic devices. The devices include mobile phones, satellites, the Internet of Things sensors, radio frequency systems, and GPS trackers.
Local manufacture of telecommunications and electronics equipment
The source also added that the lab will help in stimulating the local manufacture of telecommunications and electronics equipment. It will also help in raising the level of the competitiveness of local products and increase its export opportunities. This will happen due to the issuance of internationally certified quality certificates for locally manufactured products. It will also happen due to testing and ensuring that imported products from abroad comply with specifications standards. Preventing the entry of bad products in the local market is another criterion.
