According to a report by Engadget, Amazon plans to start three new solar power projects. The report also said that out of these three projects, two of them will be based in the US and one in Spain.
The report also said that the American plants will be based in Lee County, Illinois and Northern Virginia. They will offer a combined capacity of 180MW and produce about 400,000MWh of electricity per year as per the report. The Spanish project will be based southeast of Sevilla and offer up to 149MW of capacity.
Running entirely on renewable energy by 2030
As per the report, Amazon has not given any time frame as to when the facilities will be ready. These projects are in the direction of the company’s plan of running entirely on renewable energy by 2030.
